New Tennessee head football coach Butch Jones may have not been the Vol fans first choice but they have to be impressed with his recruiting efforts (#20 Rivals). Jones had just 31 days of permissible contact to fix the many broken relationships Derek Dooley and staff had left behind. When dismissed from Tennessee, many Vol coaches went about finding new jobs rather than working on the team's signing class in hopes of being re-hired by Jones. Still, in the short period, Jones signed 12 players who weren't committed to Tennessee when he arrived. Eight of those 12 were committed to other schools. ESPN analyst Trent Dilfer, who worked with a pair of Vol quarterback signees at Elite 11 camps...said Jones had signed the best quarterback class in the nation. The two quarterbacks are Joshua Dobbs, 6-3, 190, from Alpharetta, Georgia, and Riley Ferguson, 6-2, 190, from Matthews, North Carolina.
Probably a difficult year ahead for Jones but he is off to a good start putting together a new coaching staff and a top-20 recruiting class in a short period of time.
